Description: D-Link 3100 copy MIB providing objects to initiate and monitor file copy operations for firmware and configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DLINK-3100-COPY-MIB?

This is D-Link's private MIB for the 3100 series switches, providing objects to initiate and track file copy operations such as firmware upgrades and configuration backup/restore. It exposes a table of copy operations, each describing a source and destination location, IP address, unit number, and file name/type. Its monitoring emphasis is on software status: tracking the progress and parameters of an in-flight firmware or configuration copy so an operator can confirm a scheduled upgrade or backup completed as expected rather than stalling or failing partway through. It is a self-contained private MIB with no strong dependency on other standard MIBs, following a common RADLAN-derived pattern also seen across other switch vendors' copy MIBs. It is deployed on D-Link 3100 series switches during firmware upgrade or configuration management operations, typically initiated from network management software after a DLINK-3100-COPY-MIB download has been loaded into the operator's MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DLINK-3100-COPY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link 3100 series switch

Monitoring Examples

An admin initiating a firmware upgrade would create a row in rlCopyTable/rlCopyEntry (indexed by rlCopyIndex), setting rlCopySourceLocation, rlCopySourceIpAddress, rlCopySourceFileName, and rlCopySourceFileType to point at the firmware image, and rlCopyDestinationLocation/rlCopyDestinationIpAddress to specify where it should be applied, with rlCopySourceUnitNumber identifying which stack unit is targeted. Polling this table after initiating the copy lets the admin confirm the operation referenced by rlCopyApplicationId completed rather than stalling, which would indicate a network path or file-availability problem during the upgrade.

What Can Be Monitored

  • firmware/config copy operation parameters
  • copy source and destination location
  • source/destination IP address and file name
  • target stack unit for copy operation
