Module: DATALINK-MIB

OID (symbolic): DATALINK-MIB::portBinaryMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3052.1.4.2.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: 0 data is ASCII, 1 data is binary

What is portBinaryMode?

Tells the unit how to interpret data on this port: 0 for ASCII text, 1 for binary. Choose binary for devices that send raw bytes, so line-oriented processing does not mangle the data.
