sysTrapTime
Module: CTATX-MIB
OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::sysTrapTime
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TimeTicks
Access: read-write
Description: The time, in centiseconds, which should expire between the sending of traps. This value is used when no ICMP source quench datagrams have been received. The ES/1 uses sysTrapTime if any SNMP requests from the NMS has been received within the previous sixty seconds. If no requests have been received, then the ES/1 reverts to its default of a fifteen second wait between the sending of traps.
What is sysTrapTime?
This read-write TimeTicks, in centiseconds and used only when no ICMP source-quench has been received, sets the interval that should expire between sending of traps, with the device falling back to a fifteen-second wait if it hasn't seen any SNMP request in the previous sixty seconds. An admin tunes this to control how frequently the device retransmits pending traps to an actively polling NMS. For example, lowering this value speeds up how quickly a repeated fault condition gets reported to a management station that is currently polling the device.
