Description: Array Controller Preferred Path Mode.

This is the storage system active/active preferred path mode. The following values are valid:

other (1) Indicates that the agent does not recognize the preferred path mode of the storage system. You may need to upgrade the agent.

notActiveActive (2) The storage system is not configured as active/active.

automatic (3) The storage system automatically selects the preferred path for each logical drive based on host I/O patterns.

manual (4) The preferred path for each logical drive is manually configured by the storage system administrator.

What is cpqSsChassisPreferredPathMode?

This read-only enumerated value reports the storage system's active/active preferred path mode: not active-active, automatic, or manual. Administrators check this to understand how the array balances or fails over I/O paths between redundant controllers. For example, automatic(3) means the storage system dynamically selects the optimal path itself rather than requiring the admin to manually pin a preferred path.
