Description: Tape Device Total Bytes.
This is the number total number of bytes read/written to the tape currently installed in the device. This value is reset whenever a new tape is inserted into the device.
What is cpqTapeCountersTotalBytes?
This counter tracks the total number of bytes read from or written to the tape currently installed in the device, resetting to zero whenever a new tape is inserted. Admins use it to confirm how much data a given backup job actually wrote to or read from the currently-loaded tape. For example, comparing totalBytes against the expected backup size after a job completes helps confirm the full dataset was written to that tape.
