Description: SCSI Physical Drive Recovered Write Errors.
This is the number of write requests that the drive had to use retries or other recovery mechanisms on to recover data during the service time (phyDrvServiceHours).
Retry corrected writes will occasionally occur over time. Having a large number of retry corrected errors does not necessarily indicate that the drive is failing. However, you may wish to replace a drive with an abnormally high amount in comparison to other similiar drives as a precaution.
What is cpqScsiPhyDrvRecvWriteErrs?
This counter tracks write requests where the drive needed retries or other recovery mechanisms to complete successfully, over its service time. As with recovered reads, some amount is normal, but an abnormally high count relative to peer drives is a reason to consider replacement. For example, a drive showing a spike in recvWriteErrs after a power event might be singled out for closer inspection.
