Description: SCSI Physical Drive Functional Test 2.

This is a percentage value that represents the operating efficiency of a drive. The functional test issues a series of SCSI commands and times the results. When the drive has the test run for the very first time (service time is zero), the results are saved as the baseline value. Then, whenever the test is executed the current result is compared to the baseline result and expressed as a percent.

If the percentage result should drop rapidly there may be a problem with the drive. You may wish to replace the drive as a precaution.

What is cpqScsiPhyDrvFuncTest2?

This gauge is a percentage representing a drive's operating efficiency from a second built-in functional test, complementing cpqScsiPhyDrvFuncTest1 with an independent timed SCSI command sequence compared against the drive's original baseline. Admins watch both functional test gauges together to corroborate whether a drive's true performance is slipping. For example, a drive showing a low reading on funcTest2 as well as funcTest1 gives stronger confidence that the drive itself, not a one-off test run, has degraded.
