This Counter reports the upper word of the physical capacity, in bytes, currently holding valid and current data on the IO Drive. An admin combines this with the lower word to track how much of the card's physical space is actively occupied by real data, as distinct from erased or reclaimable space. For example, comparing this combined value against total physical capacity tells the admin how full the card actually is.
