What is cpqDaTapeDrvType?
cpqDaTapeDrvType reports a tape drive's specific model, such as cpqDat4-16, cpqDatAuto, cpqDat2-8, or one of several cpqDlt DLT drive variants, for identification purposes. Knowing the exact drive model lets an admin order the correct compatible tape media and understand that model's expected capacity and speed. For example, an admin seeing cpqDatAuto reported would know to stock DAT autoloader magazines rather than single DLT cartridges for that specific drive.
