Description: Physical Drive Bad Target Count Maximum Threshold.

This shows the maximum threshold of the number of times this physical drive can perform some action that did not conform to the SCSI-2 bus protocol. These actions will cause the SCSI bus to be reset. This is not supported by the IDA, IDA Expansion, or IDA-2 controllers.

This threshold is associated with the cpqDaPhyDrvBadTargetErrs object in the Physical Drive Table.

What is cpqDaPhyDrvThrBadTargetErrs?

cpqDaPhyDrvThrBadTargetErrs is the factory-set maximum threshold for SCSI-2 protocol violations by a physical drive that force a bus reset, corresponding to the cpqDaPhyDrvBadTargetErrs counter, and is not supported on IDA, IDA Expansion, or IDA-2 controllers. Because each violation disrupts every drive sharing that bus, this threshold defines how many protocol violations are tolerated before the offending drive is treated as a priority to isolate and replace. For example, an admin would remove a drive from service once its bad-target-error count crosses this threshold, to stop it from continuing to reset the shared bus.
