What is cpqDaPhyDrvMediaErrs?
cpqDaPhyDrvMediaErrs counts how many times this physical drive was failed due to unrecoverable media errors, and is not supported on IDA, IDA Expansion, or IDA-2 controllers. Because this counter only increments when the controller actually marks the drive failed for media reasons, any nonzero value is a definitive signal that the drive needs replacement rather than just monitoring. As an example, an admin seeing this value go from 0 to 1 on a drive would immediately schedule that specific disk for swap-out.
