The box on connector indicates to which box instance this physical drive belongs. The instances start at one and increment for each box attached to a connector. A value of -1 is returned for drives that do not support cpqDaPhyDrvBoxOnConnector.
What is cpqDaPhyDrvBoxOnConnector?
cpqDaPhyDrvBoxOnConnector indicates which expansion box instance, on a given connector, a physical drive belongs to, starting at one and incrementing per box, with -1 returned for drives that don't support this feature. This helps an admin locate a drive physically when multiple expansion enclosures are daisy-chained off the same connector. For example, if a drive reports box 2 on a connector with three enclosures attached, the technician knows to open the second box in the chain rather than the first.
