Description: Drive Array Physical Drive Authentication Status.

The following values are defined:

Other (1) Indicates that the instrument agent can not determine the physical drive's authentication status.

Not Supported (2) Indicates that authentication for this physical drive is not supported.

Authentication Failed(3) The physical drive could not be authenticated as a genuine HP hard drive. The array controller will no longer control the drive LEDs. Please replace the hard drive with a genuine HP hard drive.

Authentication Passed(4) The physical drive has passed all authentication tests and has been validated to be a genuine HP hard drive.

What is cpqDaPhyDrvAuthenticationStatus?

cpqDaPhyDrvAuthenticationStatus reports whether a physical drive has been verified as a genuine, supported drive: other, notSupported, authenticationFailed, or authenticationPassed. This flag protects against counterfeit or unsupported drives being used in the array, which could behave unpredictably under load. For example, a drive reporting authenticationFailed would prompt an admin to pull that specific unit and confirm it's a genuine, vendor-approved drive before reinstalling it.
