cpqFcaAccelFailedBatteries

Module: CPQFCA-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQFCA-MIB::cpqFcaAccelFailedBatteries

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.16.2.2.2.1.14

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: Array Accelerator Failed Batteries.

This lists the location of accelerator failed batteries. Each octet present contains the position number of a failed battery. An octet string of length zero indicates that there are no failed batteries or that the controller does not have the ability to identify individual failed batteries.

What is cpqFcaAccelFailedBatteries?

This octet string lists the position numbers of any failed batteries on the array accelerator, with a zero-length string meaning no batteries have failed (or the controller cannot report individual battery positions). Since the accelerator's write cache relies on battery backup to survive a power loss, a non-empty value here is a direct signal that cached writes are at risk and the cache should be treated as non-persistent until batteries are replaced. For example, a returned octet of 0x02 tells the admin battery position 2 needs replacement before trusting write-back caching again.
