cpqApOsCommonPollFreq

Module: CPQAPPLIANCE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQAPPLIANCE-MIB::cpqApOsCommonPollFreq

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.21.2.1.4.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The Agent's polling frequency.

The frequency, in seconds, at which the Agent requests information from. A frequency of zero indicates that the Agent retrieves the information upon request of a management station, it does not poll at a specific interval.

If the poll frequency is zero (0) all attempts to write to this object will fail. If the poll frequency is non-zero, setting this value will change the polling frequency of the Agent. Setting the poll frequency to zero will always fail, an agent may also choose to fail any request to change the poll frequency to a value that would severely impact system performance.

What is cpqApOsCommonPollFreq?

This read-write integer sets the Agent's polling frequency in seconds for how often it requests information from the appliance; a value of zero means the agent only fetches data on demand from a management station rather than polling continuously. An admin tunes this to balance monitoring freshness against agent overhead, and note that setting it is rejected while the current value is zero. To get faster alerting on a critical appliance, an admin would write a smaller positive value to cpqApOsCommonPollFreq so the agent refreshes data more often.
