Description: The chassis fans that are installed on the chassis. They are listed as a bitmap. The bitmap is a string containing a list of 1's and 0's that is as long as the number supported. If one is installed in a bay, a 1 is present in the string in the position representing the bay ID as read from left to right. For example, if it is installed in bay 1, and 2 are supported, the string would look like '10'.
What is bistChassisFansInstalled?
This bitmap string reports which chassis fan bays currently have a fan physically installed, with each character position representing one bay from left to right. It gives an admin a compact way to see fan bay population across the whole chassis at a glance. For example, a bitmap of 111101 would indicate that bay 5 out of six supported bays has no fan installed.
