This read-only object reports the current state of this cascade port within the stacking-trunk, or LAG, state machine. An admin diagnosing a stack that is not forming correctly would examine this state to determine whether a specific cascade port is stuck in a negotiation, blocking, or other non-forwarding state rather than actively passing stack traffic. For example, if a cascade port's state machine value shows it stuck outside the normal forwarding state, the admin would know that link is not currently contributing to the stack ring even though it is physically cabled.
