This read-only counter tallies the PIM Register messages this DC-PIM Neighbor Manager entity has sent, counting only Registers forwarded to other Anycast-RP set members plus Null-Registers, not the data-plane's Register-encapsulated data packets. It gives an administrator visibility into how actively this router is acting as a designated router registering multicast sources with the rendezvous point. For example, if this counter climbs steadily on a branch router, an admin can confirm it is correctly notifying the RP about a new active multicast source.
