This read-only counter counts PIM messages received by this DC-PIM Neighbor Manager entity that specify a PIM protocol version this device doesn't recognize. An admin can use this to spot a neighbor running an incompatible PIM version, which would prevent proper multicast routing adjacency. For example, this counter climbing after a firmware upgrade on a peer router would suggest a PIM version mismatch that needs to be reconciled.
