Description: Manages Cisco Small Business interface localization settings including language and regional preferences.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCOSB-LOCALIZATION-MIB?

CISCOSB-LOCALIZATION-MIB is a Cisco Small Business (formerly Linksys/rlLocalization-prefixed) private MIB governing the localization/language settings of the device's embedded web management interface, including which language is currently active for the logged-in session versus the login screen, and a table of supported languages with their names and associated help/URL directories. It is purely a configuration-status MIB with no performance counters or fault data; its monitoring value is limited to confirming the software configuration state of the UI localization feature -- e.g. verifying which language is active -- which matters mainly for support/troubleshooting rather than health monitoring. It has no notable dependency on other MIBs beyond standard SNMPv2-SMI/TC conventions. It is deployed on Cisco Small Business switches and routers (the rebranded Linksys SMB line) where multi-language web GUI support is offered, and administrators can perform a CISCOSB-LOCALIZATION-MIB download to load it into their MIB browser for reference.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCOSB-LOCALIZATION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Small Business switches and routers (Linksys SMB line)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll rlLocalizationActivelanguage and rlLocalizationLoginlanguage to confirm which language is currently presented on a device's web GUI, and could enumerate rlLocalizationLanguagesTable/rlLocalizationLanguagesEntry (rlLocalizationLanguagesName, rlLocalizationLanguagesUrlDir) to see which languages are installed. This is mainly useful for confirming a support ticket about garbled or wrong-language UI, rather than for detecting faults.

What Can Be Monitored

  • active UI language
  • login screen language
  • list of supported languages
  • language-specific help/URL directories
