Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This is the booking factor for UBR service.

What is cwspUtilFactorUbr?

This read-write Integer32, ranging from 1 to 200, is the booking factor for UBR service, a multiplier the switch applies when computing how much of an interface's capacity a new UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) connection is booked as consuming. An administrator tunes this booking factor to control call-admission aggressiveness for UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) traffic on the interface: a value above 100 lets the switch oversubscribe (statistically multiplex) UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) connections, while 100 books calls at their literal declared rate. For example, setting cwspUtilFactorUbr to 150 tells the admission-control logic to treat each new UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) call as consuming only two-thirds of its nominal bandwidth for booking purposes, allowing more UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) SVCs to be admitted on the same trunk.
