Module: CISCO-WAN-SVC-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-SVC-MIB::cwspRegAddressOrgSscope

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.140.1.2.12.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates the organizational scope for the referenced address. The information of the referenced address shall not be distributed outside the indicated scope.

The default values for organizational scope are localNetwork(1) for ATM group addresses, and global(15) for individual addresses.

What is cwspRegAddressOrgSscope?

This read-write INTEGER selects the organizational scope, localNetwork(1) or global(15), that limits how far a registered address's reachability information is distributed, defaulting to localNetwork(1) for ATM group addresses and global(15) for individual addresses. An administrator sets this to control leakage of routing information beyond an intended boundary, since the description states the address information must not be distributed outside the indicated scope. For example, a carrier restricts an internal group address to localNetwork(1) so it is never advertised to other networks, while leaving a public individual address at global(15) so it remains reachable network-wide.
