OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.140.1.2.11.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: The routing mechanism via which the connectivity from the advertising node to the reachable address was learned. A 'local' address indicates this address is automatically advertised. A 'static' address is not automatically advertised. By setting 'cwspAddrRedistribute' variable (see below) to 'true' will force a 'static' address to be advertised.

What is cwspAddrProto?

This read-create value indicates how connectivity to a reachable address was learned: local means the address is automatically advertised, while static means it is not automatically advertised unless cwspAddrRedistribute is set to true. It lets an admin distinguish addresses the switch discovers on its own from ones an administrator has manually configured for advertisement. For example, an admin manually adding a reachable address for a device not directly using ILMI registration would configure this as static and then enable cwspAddrRedistribute to have it advertised.
