cwsPathCurrentESsThreshold

Module: CISCO-WAN-SONET-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-SONET-MIB::cwsPathCurrentESsThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.150.3.1.3.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates the threshold for errored seconds(ES) for the current 15-min interval, above which alarm is generated. This threshold is the same for Far End (remote end of the line) and Near End(this end of the line).

What is cwsPathCurrentESsThreshold?

This writable value sets the errored-seconds (ES) count that, once exceeded within the current 15-minute SONET path interval, triggers an alarm, and the same threshold applies to both the near-end and far-end measurements. It gives an admin a tunable early-warning line for transient line degradation on this SONET path without waiting for the full day's tally. For instance, lowering this threshold on a critical backbone link makes the switch alarm sooner when a handful of errored seconds appear in a 15-minute window, before the fault worsens.
