This read-only object reports the number of severely errored seconds encountered on the SONET line layer during the current 24-hour interval. An administrator monitors this to distinguish more serious ongoing line degradation from the milder errored-seconds count during the current day. For example, a rising SES count alongside a flat ES count would suggest the line is experiencing fewer but more severe error events rather than a steady trickle of minor ones.
