What is xmtPortBytesDE?
This read-only Counter32 measures the total bytes transmitted in the egress direction on this port that carried the Discard Eligible bit set to 1. It gives an admin a byte-level view of how much low-priority, droppable traffic volume is leaving through this port, complementing the frame-based DE counter for capacity and congestion analysis. A sudden jump in this counter alongside network slowness could indicate a burst of best-effort traffic being pushed onto a congested trunk.
