cesmChanDirectRoute

Module: CISCO-WAN-CES-CONN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-CES-CONN-MIB::cesmChanDirectRoute

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.3.2.1.1.1.50

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object serves to associate a prefer route as directed route (correspond to the prefer route object cesmChanPrefRouteId).

A directed route specifies that the associated preferred route is the only permission route for the connection to take. Should the associated preferred route be unavailable, the connection is failed.

The object is not applicable if there is no associated preferred route with the connection.

What is cesmChanDirectRoute?

This read-write TruthValue object marks the connection's associated preferred route (set via cesmChanPrefRouteId) as a directed route, meaning it is the only route the connection is permitted to take, and the connection fails outright if that route becomes unavailable; it has no effect if no preferred route is associated. An administrator enables this when strict path control matters more than resiliency to route failure. For example, a CES circuit carrying traffic that must never be rerouted for regulatory or latency reasons would have this object set to true so it fails rather than silently taking an alternate path.
