This read-only Counter tallies the number of frames discarded on egress because of a source abort. An administrator monitors this to detect cases where the sending side of the connection itself terminated a frame transmission prematurely, rather than the switch dropping an otherwise-complete frame for congestion or error reasons. For example, a channel showing a distinct rise in xmtFramesDiscSrcAbort, without a corresponding rise in xmtFramesDiscCRCError, would point to the source aborting transmissions rather than transmission corruption as the cause of egress loss.
