This read-only Counter tallies the number of bytes discarded on ingress because the ingress queue depth was exceeded, the byte-volume counterpart to rcvFramesDiscXceedQDepth. An administrator uses it to measure how much actual data volume was lost specifically to ingress buffer overflow rather than other discard causes. For example, comparing rcvBytesDiscXceedQDepth against rcvBytesDiscard on the same channel shows what share of all ingress byte loss is attributable to exceeding the queue depth specifically.
