What is portBytesDiscXceedDEThresh?
This counter tallies the number of bytes discarded specifically because the port's DE threshold was exceeded. An administrator uses it to measure how much low-priority, discard-eligible traffic is being sacrificed by the port's congestion-control policy. For example, comparing this counter to portBytesDiscXceedQueFull would let an engineer distinguish policy-driven discards from outright queue-full discards.
