Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::pir

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.1.2.1.1.1.20

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The dafault is 160 pir is defined in fastpackets/sec and it defines peak information rate for Foresight. 1 cell/sec is equal to 16 fastpackets/sec. Following information about cps is for reference only: The peak value for qir in FRSM-VHS cards is 285714 cps and for all other cards, it is 10000 cps. For FRSM-VHS cards, cell will be the ATM cell (48 byte payload).

For FRSM12 Card: Not Supported

What is pir?

This read-write integer sets the Peak Information Rate (pir) in fastpackets per second for ForeSight rate control, defaulting to 160, sharing the 16 fastpackets-per-cell conversion and the 285,714 cps (FRSM-VHS) versus 10,000 cps (other cards) peak; it is not supported on FRSM12. An administrator sets pir as the ceiling ForeSight allows a source to burst up to when bandwidth is available, working alongside qir and mir to shape the connection's rate envelope. For example, on a card other than FRSM-VHS, pir cannot be pushed past 10,000 cps even if the connection's cir would otherwise justify a higher peak.
