This read-write INTEGER (1..64) specifies, network-wide, the age in milliseconds beyond which Time-Stamped packets are discarded rather than delivered. An administrator tunes this jitter-buffer aging limit to cap how stale a delay-sensitive cell, such as one carrying voice or circuit-emulation traffic, can be before it's dropped instead of delivered late. For example, lowering this value to 8 milliseconds tightens the delay tolerance and drops more marginal cells, while raising it toward 64 lets stale cells through, trading added latency for less loss.
