This read-write integer (2..256) is Nrm, the maximum number of data cells a standard-ABR source may send for each forward Resource Management (RM) cell, restricted to powers of 2 starting at 2 (2, 4, 8, ... 256) with agent-enforced compliance. An administrator sets Nrm to control how frequently RM cells are interspersed with data cells for rate-management feedback on this connection. For example, setting frstdABRNrm to 32 means an RM cell is sent after every 32 data cells at most, versus every 256 data cells if Nrm were set to its maximum.
