What is frLocalVpi?
This read-only integer (0..65535) is the local VPI which, together with the local VCI and NSAP, identifies this connection's local endpoint; because it is read-only, the switch module always assigns it a value of 0. An administrator reads it purely to confirm the local ATM addressing being used for this connection, understanding that the VPI portion will always report 0 regardless of the actual connection. For example, when inspecting a connection's local endpoint identity, an engineer would find frLocalVpi reporting 0 while frLocalVci carries the meaningful DLCI-derived value instead.
