Description: This variable contains the next UNUSED channel number of the possible 4000 (ranging from 16 to 4015). This number can be used in channel config table, the ChanNumNextAvailable gets updated if the number gets used to create a logical channel. A '0' indicates that no more channels are available.

What is chanNumNextAvailable?

This read-only integer (16..4015) reports the next unused channel number out of the roughly 4000 possible values in that range, and it updates automatically once that number is consumed to create a logical channel; a value of 0 means no channel numbers remain available, and it is not supported on FRSM12. An administrator or provisioning script reads this before creating a new logical channel to know which free channel number to use next. For example, a provisioning tool reading chanNumNextAvailable as 0 on a card would know that all 4000 channel numbers in the 16-4015 range are already in use and no new channel can be created.
