Description: Refers to the virtual connection index Note that the actual range of the index supported by a card depends on the type of card. eg: FRSM-4T1/E1 supports a range from 16..271 (256 entries) FRSM-8T1/E1 supports a range from 16..1015 (1000 entries) FRSM-T3/E3/HS2/HS2B-HSSI/T3B/E3B supports a range from 16..2015 (2000 entries) FRSM-2CT3/HS2B-12IN1 supports a range from 16..4015 (4000 entries) For FRSM12 Card: Byte 3 = Chassis Number, Byte 2 = Slot Number, Byte 1 & 0 = channel Number. Lower two bytes range from 16..16015 (16000 entries)

What is chanNum?

This read-only value identifies the virtual connection (channel) index on a Frame Relay Service Module, with the valid range varying dramatically by the specific FRSM card model: 16 through 271 (256 entries) on FRSM-4T1/E1, up to 16 through 1015 on FRSM-8T1/E1, up to 16 through 2015 on the FRSM-T3/E3/HS2 family, and up to 16 through 4015 (4000 entries) on FRSM-2CT3/HS2B-12IN1. An administrator must know the specific FRSM card variant installed before interpreting this value, since the same channel number could be valid on a high-capacity card but out of range on a smaller one. For example, a chanNum of 3000 would only be valid on an FRSM-2CT3/HS2B-12IN1 card, since even the FRSM-T3/E3/HS2 family tops out at 2015.
