cesRestrictTrunkType

Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::cesRestrictTrunkType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.3.2.1.1.1.38

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Restricted trunk type for routing, used by PXM. It specifies that the connection either cannot be routed over satelite trunks, or terrestrial trunks, or it can be on any type of trunk. It is not necessary to be provide in the connection setup request, the default value is noresriction(1).

What is cesRestrictTrunkType?

This read-write value restricts which physical trunk types PXM's routing logic may use for this connection, forbidding either terrestrial or satellite trunks specifically, or leaving routing unrestricted by trunk type, which is the default. An administrator sets this to avoid routing a delay-sensitive circuit-emulation connection over a high-latency satellite trunk, or conversely to avoid a link that is inherently less reliable in certain deployments. For example, setting cesRestrictTrunkType to sateliteTrunk(3) prevents PXM from ever routing this connection over a satellite link, forcing it onto terrestrial paths only.
