This read-only bitmap identifies which DS0 timeslots on physical line 4 are already assigned to existing logical ports, with the most significant byte invalid for a DS1 line. An administrator provisioning line 4 uses this bitmap the same way as on other lines, to spot free DS0s before creating a new port there. A completely clear bitmap for line 4 would indicate that line has no logical ports configured on it yet.
