What is cesIngrDiscardedBytes?
This read-only counter tracks the number of bytes discarded specifically because of a shelf-level alarm condition affecting ingress port data, and it is not supported on CESM-8P. An administrator uses this counter, on cards where it applies, to confirm that data loss on a channel is attributable to a broader shelf alarm rather than a channel-specific issue. A nonzero count here typically coincides with other shelf-wide alarm indications rather than an isolated per-channel fault.
