Description: This indicates the type of connection. 1 = Normal Channel (nonStrauChannel(0) ) 2 = SCI 1 i.e bit 1 & 2 3 = SCI 2 i.e bit 3 & 4 4 = SCI 3 i.e bit 5 & 6 5 = SCI 4 i.e bit 7 & 8 Currently not supported in CESM-8 Not applicable for CESM-4 and CESM-T3/E3

What is cesChanStrauSciNum?

This read-write value indicates whether this channel is a normal (non-STRAU) channel or one of four sub-channel-interval (SCI) positions within a STRAU subrate timeslot, identifying which specific 2-bit group of an 8kbps subrate link the channel represents. An administrator provisioning subrate voice/data circuits below a full DS0 uses this to assign the channel to the correct SCI position, though this feature is not currently supported on CESM-8 and does not apply to CESM-4 or CESM-T3/E3 at all. For example, sci2(3) would designate the channel as occupying bits 3 and 4 of the shared DS0 timeslot.
