cesChanIdleDetEnable
Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::cesChanIdleDetEnable
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.3.2.1.1.1.20
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This indicates the type of Idle detection enabled 1 = Idle code detection is disabled. 2 = This will enable Idle detection whenver it detects Onhook in ABCD bits. Onhook code is configurable using cesChanOnhookCode. Applicable in structured mode. 3 = This will enable payload Idle code detection. Idle pattern is configurable through cesChanIdleSignalCode variable. Only applicable to CESM-8T1/E1 and non strau channels This will be supported in future release
What is cesChanIdleDetEnable?
This read-write value determines how the channel detects an idle voice/data circuit: disabled entirely, by watching for an on-hook condition in the ABCD signalling bits (configured via cesChanOnhookCode, applicable in structured mode), or by detecting a configured idle payload pattern (via cesChanIdleSignalCode, CESM-8T1/E1 only). An administrator enables idle detection so the channel can suppress cell generation or apply idle suppression during quiet periods, saving bandwidth on a bandwidth-constrained trunk. For example, setting cesChanIdleDetEnable to enableOnhookDet(2) on a structured voice channel lets the system recognize when a phone goes on-hook and act accordingly.
