Description: The logical interface is a generic entity, it can be used as either a virtual trunk, or user port with UNI support.
This variable is provided to enable/disable ILMI.
ILMI should only be enabled on 'user ports' and not on 'virtual trunks' 1 - disable 2 - enable
What is bbIfIlmiEnable?
This read-write setting turns ILMI, the Interim Local Management Interface, on or off for this logical interface, and per the description should be enabled only on user ports, not on virtual trunks. ILMI is used for address registration and status exchange with UNI-attached devices, so enabling it inappropriately on a trunk could cause unwanted signaling behavior. An admin provisioning a customer-facing UNI port would set bbIfIlmiEnable to enable(2), while leaving it disabled on an inter-switch virtual trunk.
