Description: This object specifies the value to be stored in the IP Precedence field of voice packets, with values ranging from 0 (normal precedence) through 7 (network control), allowing the managed system to set the importance of each voice packet for delivering them to the destination peer.

What is cvVoIPPeerCfgIPPrecedence?

This is a read-write integer, from 0 for normal precedence to 7 for network control, setting the value written into the IP Precedence field of voice packets sent by this peer. An admin uses this to signal the relative importance of this peer's voice traffic to routers and switches along the path, helping ensure voice packets get preferential queuing over less time-sensitive traffic. For example, an admin might set a higher IP Precedence value on a peer carrying critical voice traffic so intermediate routers prioritize it during periods of congestion.
