cvVoIPPeerCfgCodingMode

Module: CISCO-VOICE-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VOICE-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB::cvVoIPPeerCfgCodingMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.63.1.2.3.1.31

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object specifies the coding mode to be used. The object is instantiated only if cvVoIPPeerCfgCoderRate is 'iSAC'. Following coding modes are supported: adaptive (1) - adaptive mode where iSAC performs bandwidth estimation and adapts to the available channel

bandwidth. independent (2) - independent mode in which no bandwidth estimation is performed.

What is cvVoIPPeerCfgCodingMode?

This is a read-write enumerated setting choosing between adaptive mode, where the iSAC codec performs bandwidth estimation and adapts to available channel bandwidth, and independent mode, where no bandwidth estimation is performed, and it is only instantiated when this peer uses the iSAC coder. An admin picks adaptive mode on links with variable or unpredictable bandwidth so the codec self-tunes, or independent mode when a fixed, predictable bit rate is preferred. For example, an admin on a highly variable wireless backhaul link would likely choose adaptive mode so iSAC can respond to changing conditions in real time.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.63.1.2.3.1.31
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VOICE-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB::cvVoIPPeerCfgCodingMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.63.1.2.3.1.31.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VOICE-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB::cvVoIPPeerCfgCodingMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.63.1.2.3.1.31.1 i <value>
