cvVoIPCallHistoryGapFillWithPrediction
Module: CISCO-VOICE-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-VOICE-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB::cvVoIPCallHistoryGapFillWithPrediction
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.63.1.4.2.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: AbsoluteCounter32
Access: read-only
Description: Duration of voice signal played out with signal synthesized from parameters or samples of data preceding in time due to voice data not received on time (or lost) from voice gateway for this call. An example of such playout is frame-erasure or frame-concealment strategies in G.729 and G.723.1 compression algorithms. This counter object will lock at the maximum value which is approximately two days.
What is cvVoIPCallHistoryGapFillWithPrediction?
This AbsoluteCounter32, in milliseconds, measures audio played out using signal synthesized from preceding data samples (such as G.729 or G.723.1 frame-erasure/frame-concealment) when voice data was late or lost, and it locks at its two-day maximum value. Administrators use it to distinguish 'smart' concealment-based recovery from raw silence substitution when assessing how gracefully a codec is masking packet loss. For example, a call with high prediction-based gap fill but low silence gap fill suggests the codec's concealment algorithm is successfully masking most lost frames from the listener.
