cvVoIPCallActiveGapFillWithPrediction

Module: CISCO-VOICE-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VOICE-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB::cvVoIPCallActiveGapFillWithPrediction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.63.1.3.2.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: AbsoluteCounter32

Access: read-only

Description: Duration of voice signal played out with signal synthesized from parameters or samples of data preceding in time due to voice data not received on time (or lost) from voice gateway for this call. An example of such playout is frame-erasure or frame-concealment strategies in G.729 and G.723.1 compression algorithms. This counter object will lock at the maximum value which is approximately two days.

What is cvVoIPCallActiveGapFillWithPrediction?

This is a read-only counter, in milliseconds, tracking how much voice playout was synthesized from parameters or samples preceding in time, using frame-erasure or frame-concealment strategies like those in the G.729 and G.723.1 compression algorithms, due to late or lost data. An admin monitors this to see how much of a call is being filled in by the codec's own loss-concealment logic rather than played from genuinely received data. For example, a call using G.729 with a high value here would show the codec is actively covering for network packet loss using its built-in concealment feature rather than the listener hearing dead air.
