Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-VOICE-APPLICATIONS-OID-MIB?

CISCO-VOICE-APPLICATIONS-OID-MIB is a Cisco vendor-specific OID-registration module, not a data-bearing MIB — it simply allocates object identifier branches under cvaMIBOids for Cisco's various voice application products. It defines five named arcs: ciscoCallManager, ciscoCallManagerExpress, ciscoSRST (Survivable Remote Site Telephony), ciscoBTS (Broadband Telephony Services), and ciscoCSPS (standalone Unix/Linux SIP Proxy Server), each reserving OID space for the call-processing and application MIBs specific to that product. Because it contains no OBJECT-TYPE or NOTIFICATION-TYPE definitions, it has no direct polling value; its role is purely structural, letting an NMS or MIB browser correctly resolve OIDs reported by these voice application products to the right product family. It depends on CISCO-SMI for its position under ciscoModules and is deployed conceptually across Cisco IP telephony and VoIP deployments (Call Manager, CME, SRST, BTS, CSPS), where engineers reference the CISCO-VOICE-APPLICATIONS-OID-MIB OID tree when mapping a discovered device's OIDs back to its Cisco voice application family.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-VOICE-APPLICATIONS-OID-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco IP telephony/VoIP application platforms (Call Manager, Call Manager Express, SRST, BTS, CSPS)

Monitoring Examples

An operator's MIB browser resolves an unrecognized OID under the ciscoBTS arc to confirm a monitored device is running Broadband Telephony Services rather than Call Manager Express; an OID that fails to resolve under any of the five registered arcs would indicate a voice application not yet covered by this registration module.

What Can Be Monitored

  • OID arc registration for Call Manager
  • OID arc registration for Call Manager Express
  • OID arc registration for SRST
  • OID arc registration for BTS
  • OID arc registration for CSPS
