Module: CISCO-VISM-SESSION-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-SESSION-MIB::vismRudpSessionNullSegTmout

What is vismRudpSessionNullSegTmout?

This read-write Integer32 (0-65535 milliseconds) specifies the session idle timeout, after which a null segment is sent from the gateway to the MGC to keep the session alive, and it is negotiated between MGC and gateway. An admin cares because this keepalive mechanism prevents an idle RUDP session from being mistaken for dead or timing out at intermediate network elements. For example, an operator whose signaling path has NAT devices with short idle timeouts would shorten this null segment timeout to keep the RUDP session alive more frequently.
