Module: CISCO-VISM-CONN-STAT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-CONN-STAT-MIB::vismChanAal5InvLenPdus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.5.3.3.1.1.23

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: This object counts the number of AAL5 PDUs dropped due to the length violations. This is applicable to the CCS PVCs. The HDLC(High Level Data Link Control) frames should have a minimum frame size in order for the proper interpretation by the upper layer protocol.

What is vismChanAal5InvLenPdus?

This Counter32 counts AAL5 PDUs dropped due to length violations, applicable to CCS PVCs, since HDLC frames must meet a minimum frame size for correct interpretation by the upper-layer protocol. Frames arriving smaller than the required HDLC minimum are effectively unparseable by the signaling protocol above, so this counter directly reflects malformed signaling frames being discarded. An engineer troubleshooting intermittent signaling failures on a CCS PVC would check this counter to see if undersized HDLC frames are being silently dropped rather than assuming a higher-layer protocol issue.
