vismChanCarrierLossPolicy

Module: CISCO-VISM-CAC-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-CAC-MIB::vismChanCarrierLossPolicy

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.5.3.1.3.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object defines the policy that needs to be applied when a carrier loss is detected. The possible policies are defined as follows:

'previousCodec' - switch to the pre-upspeed codec when a a carrier loss is detected.

'upspeedCodec' - remain with the upspeed codec when a carrier loss is detected.

'unspecified' - The card level object value vismCarrierLossPolicy(defined in CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB MIB) will be used.

Configuring this object will not have any affect when card level CAC object vismCacEnable (defined in CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB MIB) is disabled.

What is vismChanCarrierLossPolicy?

This read-write INTEGER object defines the policy applied when a carrier loss is detected on an upspeeded connection: previousCodec (revert to the pre-upspeed codec), upspeedCodec (stay on the upspeed codec), or unspecified (defer to the card-level default). This determines how the system recovers a call's codec state after a fax/modem carrier signal drops unexpectedly. An engineer tuning fax-over-IP reliability would set this to previousCodec so a lost carrier automatically falls back to the more robust base voice codec rather than remaining on the specialized upspeed codec.
